I do love the simple cockpit over many of the modern aircraft we now have.But there are i think only 2 servers with very low population that run Sabres vs MIGs. The other downside is that she only carries 2x 100KG bombs, so its ineffecient to do any real ground attack work in the MIG15.Doesn't come with a campaign (there is one seperately) but comes with a few missions.Look, she's a great plane, but she's not as diverse\/interesting as the Sabre, which carries rockets AND bombs at the same time as well as the first heatseeker missile. So if you love this jet and all its history, then this is for you!If you want more bang for buck and just want a simple\/early jet, go for the Sabre.. I am intrigued by Mig-15`s look and the fact that it was technological step forward towards the jet age...but with air to air missiles not yet incomporated. I did not notice any major bugs on modul, however I never managed to figure out how to use radio to communicate with AWAST and ATCs even after watching videos on Youtube and checking Flight manual over and over. The plane`s flight characteristics makes it pleasant to fly. It is stable plane what makes it suitable for formation flying and ground attacks with cannons. I never managed to master bombing which is supposed to be executed with intuition rather than precise aiming. Landings require some practice. Engine is slow responding which forces you to tune your engine management skills for dogfight. There is one thing what always concerned me. It has nothing to do with DCS itself, but with actual Mig 15`s design. The aiming device in the cockpit is so big that it blocks the pilot`s vision. During positine G turns in dogfight gyroscopics aiming pipe dissapeares behing the body of the aiming device just as the plane you chase, thereafter you only rely on guess or intuition to aim. I never mastered it and so never became good in dogfights with this plane. Conclusion: The module is beautiful, intriguing and posesses the magic , but dogfights are challenging above the average.. As with any DCS World module, what you get out of it depends on what you put into it. As a newcomer to DCS World, I\u2019ve gotten a lot of joy out of dogfighting the MiG-15\u2019s counterpart from the Korean War, the F-86 Sabre, where air combat relied primarily on pilot skill and taking full advantage of the early jet fighters' strengths. With that said, there\u2019s lot of room for improvement in my dogfighting abilities, but I do feel like I\u2019m improving with experience, and I\u2019m also looking to delve deeper into MiG-15\u2019s finer details, such as performing a cold startup from memory. The biggest knock against this module is that it\u2019s very lacking in prebuilt missions and campaigns. It would be really nice to fly some historical Korean War missions. Perhaps they may show up in a future update or module, but for now, the DCS website has some user-created missions and liveries that will adequately hold me over for now.Aside from its shortcomings, the MiG-15bis is a great module for anyone interested in studying this feared Soviet aircraft. I highly recommend a HOTAS joystick system and a head-tracking device such as TrackIR.. This is the first module I bought for DCS and I whole-heartedly recommend it. The exterior model is drop dead beautiful and I have not had a single bug or problem. I also found a soundmod with which I sometimes think I am actually inside a jet fighter. So either I am just too inexperienced or not paying enough attention for a high fidelity simulation. Though I have played simulations before, I was simply shocked by the aerodynamic modelling. Unlike in older games you can't just pull the stick fully in any direction (especially not the rudders), or you become unconscious, or enter a stall, or probably both. I even managed to shut down my engine by trying an inverted loop, and since I didn't know how to start it in mid air, I had to eject the plane!If you love the shape and history of the Mig 15, get it. I can not report any of the problems some people have with this mod. The downside is of course the lack of a lot of ordnance and missions \/ campaigns. This may be a letdown, but I'd rather take a very well made plane with little to no extras, than the other way round.
